Ka Pai, Rawe! What an awesome time we had at the beach! The weather was so kind to us. Cecilie came from Swimming New Zealand and we all had a great time engaging with this learning about water safety, rips, river rescuing methods and practising all of this.
Afterwards it was time to set up camp, light the fire and enjoy some nature connection. Although we had other games and activities planned everyone was in such a great space to play and connect with nature, the games can come another time. The sunset was spectacular, thanks Hone for taking a few shots and allowing me to share 🙂
This was certainly a fabulous way of ending the first part of 2019. I have learnt so much this year already from the tamariki and our wider life learning community. Also how to cook over a fire, and will make a few improvements for next time beach camping!
Thanks to all those that helped make this happen. To parents who stayed and to everyone that supported their tamariki to be prepared for this fabulous adventure.
Have a wonderful time over the next couple of weeks until we start up again soon
